A very Ana January

A year ago this past weekend, I spent a morning with Ana Forrest.

To say that my practice has changed since that snowy morning is an understatement. I was tired that morning, and nervous, and almost didn't go. What started as taking a master class on a whim became so much more.

I learned how to breathe, I found the edge, and started to let go.

Forrest Yoga has changed me in a profound and beautiful way, and for that I am truly grateful.

So I jump at every chance I can to practice with Ana, because she is completely devoted to helping others get beyond their struggles, and emerge with a healthy practice, and a path towards healing.

It is in this spirit that I am getting ready to spend a large amount of time with Ana, as she will be based in the Bay Area for the majority of the month. Starting with the Yoga Journal San Francisco Conference this weekend, continuing with a book signing at Innerstellar next week, and ending January with week-long morning intensives at Namaste Oakland.

I am so excited. My abs...not so much. But hard work is part of the practice.

First stop, Yoga Journal 2012. I'll be blogging each day. (Here is the 2011 Recap).

If you are in the SF area, there will be a number of community classes all weekend - free to the public. One of my favorite teachers, Pete Guinnoso, will be teaching a 1pm vinyasa class on Sunday, January 15. I hope to see you there!
